Veganism

For millenia, humans have pondered how to live in harmony with other animals and the envir0nment. Veganism and plant-based eating have long traditions all over the world. Different reasons for becoming a vegan include animal rights, the living conditions of animals, health reasons, environmental reasons, as well as religious or spiritual reasons.

The vegan way of life is suitable for people of all backgrounds and ages. A vegan diet can be just as varied (or not varied) as any other diet. When well-planned, a plant-based diet is suitable for almost everyone, throughout all stages of life.

What is a vegan?

A vegan is a person who does not buy any animal products or use any services involving animal exploitation.

Why become a vegan?

Vegans do not form a unified mass with a unified worldview. Instead, they are all very different individuals with different reasons for becoming a vegan.

Vegans’ rights

The Finnish Vegan Association also strives to fight for the rights of vegans in a society whose structures are firmly based on the exploitation of non-human animals.
